Photo Credit: Network RailWest Ealing station, one stop beyond Ealing Broadway, unveiled its new fit-for-purpose entrance earlier last month, hinting to the opening of Crossrail’s Elizabeth line services.
Crossrail will provide a brand new connection to JIGSAW as West Ealing station is merely 500 meters away. A fast, easy commute is assured with high-speed trains reaching Heathrow airport in 13 minutes, Bond Street in 15 minutes, Liverpool Street in 22 minutes, and Canary Warf in less than half an hour*.
The new entrance was built as part of Network Rail and Transport for London’s overhaul of the station which welcomes an impressive (and expansive) station, a new platform (and extended platforms overall), new customer information screens, accessible lifts, and a spacious ticket hall. The accessible lifts allow the station to now have step-free platforms - improving accessibility for those travelling to stations between Paddington, Heathrow and Reading.
As of the latest Crossrail update**, the Elizabeth line is now in its final stages and is anticipated to be operational by the first half of 2022 after they complete the Trial Running stage to ensure the trains are safe and reliable for service.
JIGSAW is brilliantly connected to all forms of transport, and the addition of Crossrail will make connected living that much more convenient.
