The well regarded St John’s Primary School, residing alongside Jigsaw, is getting a well-deserved makeover by our architecture and construction team. Not just the manicure and pedicure treatment, but rather a completely brand new home fit for 21st
Century education, meaning this local school will be able to grow with its popularity; and rightly so.
Working in collaboration with the school and Ealing’s education chiefs, the new site has been brilliantly designed by Jigsaw’s design and architecture practice, Conran and Partners. Its progressive and forward-looking design will add to the fresh identity that Jigsaw and West Ealing’s reboot is providing.
The existing school site will remain open during construction works of the new school building, allowing for a seamless transition into the new school for Autumn 2017. Furthermore, the school will incorporate a new form of entry, enabling three forms at the new site thanks to the capacity increase, plus an expanded nursery facility.
With the addition of a revamped school, West Ealing’s position at the helm of a ‘property hotspot’ will certainly be further cemented. Does this mean there is evidence behind the link between living near a quality school in demand and making a sound property investment? Well, The Daily Telegraph produced a report in August 2015, supported by research
from online estate agent eMoov, suggesting “house prices in the postcodes of the best-performing, non-fee-paying schools are around 28% higher than their surrounding area.”
So as well as having closer, more convenient amenities, education on your doorstep also delivers an extra investment edge to the already competitive London housing market for first time buyers, second steppers and families.
