We collaborated with Mandie Wilde of local arts centre Open Ealing to create a striking new mural inspired by local children and artists on Jigsaw’s hoarding. Tying in the symbolism of the natural environment, rebirth and cycle of growth just like the former estate’s namesake, the hoarding depicts the idea of breathing new and expressive life into the community
Artists from Open Ealing joined children from the local community and Parminder Basuta, Community Investment Co-ordinator of A2Dominion, who oversaw the composition.
The young Green Man Lane residents came up with the concept of including a Green Man and Green Woman figure in the mural. They lent their creative hand to design the leaves and stenciled in their names in some of these to sign off the masterpiece.
Calling the mural ‘Green Union 2016’ the group wanted to show how the Green figures not only symbolised rebirth and regeneration but also the need for humans to become mindful of their natural environment and the effect of humans and by our products.
The Jigsaw team was proud to be able to offer our hoarding as a canvas for the creative talents of the local community as collectively, we aim to shape better quality lives through our work.
