West Ealing’s Dean Gardens to be revamped

The redesign has begun and plans to transform Dean Gardens have started. Inspired by the local community, the newly designed park will offer a new vibrant green space for Jigsaw residents to enjoy and will create an iconic park in West Ealing.
This ambitious project will be part of the larger regeneration project to redevelop Dean Garden’s estate. The vision behind it is to create an aspirational park which caters to the local community’s everyday needs and future events.

Dean Gardens is just a 5 minute walk from Jigsaw making it a welcome addition to the neighbourhood for its residents and the wider West Ealing community to enjoy.

Vision for the new Dean Gardens

The vision is to create a playful environment which looks playful as well as providing opportunities to play and learn.

Creating a space which encourages the community to come together is a key factor in the redesign of Dean Gardens. Therefore providing a variety of flexible spaces large enough to host events is a crucial part of the proposals.

With the new and improved Dean Gardens close proximity to Broadway high street it has a great opportunity to provide a refreshing open green space to the surrounding area. The introduction of more plant life and trees will improve the sustainability of the area and set an environmentally friendly example for West Ealing.

At what stage is the project?

The redesign is still in the early stages however a leading landscape architect has been commissioned to move the proposal forward.

New sports facilities, market spaces and outdoor cinema

The local community have been involved in the park proposals and whilst Dean Gardens has plenty of large open spaces, these are currently underused and could be improved by introducing sport facilities, space for markets or even an outdoor cinema.

Creating a welcoming environment is at the heart of the redesign so lighting improvements have also been proposed.

The location of the park is only a 5 min walk from Jigsaw and access from the park’s surrounding streets have been raised as areas to improve.
