The Group took over the project after plans for the site from previous applicants were refused. A2Dominion made a series of design refinements which addressed the previous scheme’s reasons for rejection.
The scheme will deliver the following;
Located between Knowle Lane and Alfold Road, the 8.31ha site is set to include a range of one, two, three, four and five-bed homes.
In addition to car parking spaces for the new homes, up to 40 spaces will also be provided for visitors to the country park.
The Group will make significant financial contributions to benefit the local area and amenities as part of the Section 106 agreement. This includes investment towards the Wey and Arun Canal Bridge Safety Improvement scheme as well as Crainleigh Leisure Centre, Cranleigh Art Centre, and funding towards early years, primary and secondary education.
Subject to the approval of a Reserved Matters application, work on the site is expected to start in 2018 or 2019.
