It's no wonder that this leafy West London village-style neighbourhood has been named the second best place to live in London in 2022 by The Sunday Times. Hanwell is in the midst of all the action and is rich in history and tradition.

Did you know the Hanwell Carnival is the oldest carnival in London? This year’s carnival is happening on Saturday 18 June – we’ll see you there!

The first carnival took place in 1898, almost 125 years ago in an effort to raise funds for the Cottage Hospital, known as Ealing Hospital today. The carnival attracts over 30,000 attendees throughout the day soaking up the sun and enjoying the festive atmosphere. The Hanwell Carnival is an entirely community-organised event which highlights the strong sense of community that Hanwell prides itself on.

A parade starting at the Hanwell Community Centre will at 11 am will march down Boston Road, past the Hanwell Square Marketing & Sales suite, and end at Elthorne Park. Attendees can look forward to live music, a fun fair, craft tent, dog shows and much more. The Hanwell Square team will also be at the carnival – we’ll have a booth near the entrance of Elthorne Park so stop by and say hello!

Hanwell Hootie (https://www.hanwellhootie.co.uk/)

The Hanwell Hootie music festival is the largest free one-day music festival featuring young and emerging bands from London. Since its inception in 2013, this loud and proud event has helped launched many talented artists’ careers. The event was to commemorate the late Jim Marshall, The Father of Loud, who created the Marshall Amp here in Hanwell in 1962.
